CLARKSVILLE, TN – The following Clarksville-Montgomery County School System administrator announcements were made regarding the 2026-27 school year.

Vanessa Perry has been selected as an assistant principal at Freedom Elementary School, beginning the 2026-2027 school year. Perry currently serves as a fifth-grade Multi-Classroom Leader at West Creek Elementary School, where she also serves as the Grade-Level RTI Lead, Site-Based Induction Specialist, and member of the School Leadership Team. Perry was named West Creek Elementary Teacher of the Year for 2025-2026. Prior to joining CMCSS in 2022, Perry served in Catawba County Schools in North Carolina, where she was named District Teacher of the Year in 2022 and St. Stephens Elementary Teacher of the Year in 2021-2022. She has taught second, third, and fifth grades and has served in numerous leadership roles, including grade-level chair, building leadership team member, district strategic planning committee member, and MTSS screener committee member. She has had an active role on CMCSS’ District RLA Curriculum Team, and she is a graduate of the CMCSS Aspiring Administrator Academy. Perry began her career in education in 2014 as a Teach For America corps member, teaching in Ohio and North Carolina. Perry earned her Master of School Administration from Appalachian State University and her B.A. in Sociology from Eastern Kentucky University.

Dr. Hannah Oglesbee has been selected as an assistant principal at Kirkwood Elementary School. (CMCSS, Contributed)

Dr. Hannah Oglesbee has been selected as an assistant principal at Kirkwood Elementary School, beginning the 2026-2027 school year. Oglesbee currently serves as an assistant principal at Pisgah Elementary School. Previously, Dr. Oglesbee served as an Academic Coach at Moore Magnet STEAM Elementary School and as a Multi-Classroom Leader, Content Mentor, and classroom teacher, beginning her career with CMCSS in 2019. Dr. Oglesbee was named Teacher of the Year in 2021-2022 and was selected as a Tennessee STEM Innovation Network (TSIN) Workforce Fellow in 2022-2023. She currently serves as an adjunct professor at Austin Peay State University and has held several leadership and mentor roles in curriculum and instruction. Dr. Oglesbee earned her Ed.D. and Ed.S. in Educational Leadership from Trevecca Nazarene University and her M.S. in Reading and B.S. in K-5 Education from Austin Peay State University.

Cynthia Parcells has been selected as an assistant principal at Kirkwood Middle School. (CMCSS, Contributed)

Cynthia Parcells has been selected as an assistant principal at Kirkwood Middle School, beginning the 2026-2027 school year. Since 2024, she has served as an assistant principal at Rossview Elementary and West Creek Elementary schools. Parcells began her career with CMCSS in 2007 and has taught physical science, biology and middle school scienceat Northwest High School and Montgomery Central Middle School. She has served in several leadership roles, including Lead Science Teacher and professional learning facilitator. She is a graduate of the CMCSS Teacher Leader Academy. Parcells earned her M.A.T. and B.S. in Geosciences from Austin Peay State University. She earned her administrator’s license from Carson-Newman University, where she is currently pursuing her Ed.D. in Administrative Leadership.

Lynne Rains has been selected as the principal of Woodlawn Elementary School. (CMCSS, Contributed)

Lynne Rains has been selected as the principal of Woodlawn Elementary School, beginning the 2026-2027 school year. She is replacing Jennifer Silvers who is retiring after 30 years in CMCSS, including 11 years as the principal at Woodlawn. Rains have served as the principal of Barkers Mill Elementary School since 2021, and she previously served for eleven years as the principal at West Creek Elementary School. Under Rains’ leadership, West Creek Elementary was a TN Reward School in 2017-2018, performing in the top 5% of schools in the state. Before her sixteen years of experience as a principal, she served as an assistant principal at West Creek Elementary, an academic coach at Kenwood Elementary, and a classroom teacher in Tennessee and Alabama, beginning her career in education in 1997. Additionally, Rains has served as an adjunct professor at Nashville State Community College. She earned her M.Ed. from Trevecca Nazarene University and B.A. from The University of Alabama.
