CLARKSVILLE, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library’s Teen Advisory board will be opening applications for 2022-23 board members.

Teens who would like to take an active leadership role by helping plan, promote, and be a part of teen programs at the library should apply for the Teen Advisory Board.

The main objective of the TAB is to involve teens in the functioning of the library by seeking their ideas on programs, services, and materials specifically for teens, thereby improving Young Adult Services and the library.

Board members will also help publicize the library’s teen activities.

In order to be a member of the board, the student must be in grades 7-12, have parental permission, submit an application and recommendation letter, attend and participate in TAB meetings, and help with and attend teen programs.

Members will be selected based on applications. If selected, members will be notified by email. Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month from September to May from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Loft.

To apply for the Teen Advisory Board, please fill out an application out at https://mcgtn.org/publiclibrary/tabapp and have your recommendation letter emailed to Nita@clarksville.org.

Applications and recommendation letters for TAB are due by May 18. The Teen Advisory Board is accepting 11 members for the 2022-23 year.

TAB membership can be an added benefit for college admissions and employment applications.
