CLARKSVILLE, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Economic Development Council (EDC) is pleased to announce the EDC, in collaboration with the City of Clarksville and Montgomery County, received a Local Government Award for Excellence in Economic Development by the Greater Nashville Regional Council (GNRC) for the 2019 Best Place to Live Campaign.

Twenty-one awards were presented among seven categories, including Public Works and Utility Infrastructure, Aging Services and Senior Activity Programs, Economic Development, Recreation, and Youth Engagement, Protective Services, Land Use Initiatives, and Community Engagement and Outreach.

The EDC, city and county launched a collective multifaceted print, social media, radio and web marketing campaign to enhance the Clarksville brand. The campaign focused on talent and industry recruitment efforts and workforce initiatives, and featured local imagery and quality of life statistics to market Clarksville-Montgomery County as the premier place to build a business, raise a family and retire while instilling community pride.

Thrive Creative Group served as the designated marketing clearinghouse team, overseeing several campaign needs, including brand development and strategy, marketing materials, website design and development, social media management and more.

5 Star Media Group served as the broadcast manager for the radio and digital ad campaign, developing display ads and radio spots featuring residents describing why they choose to call Clarksville home to promote the accolade.

“We are thankful for the opportunity to showcase the remarkable accolade of being named the 2019 Best Place to Live in America,” said EDC Vice President of Communications & Marketing Michelle Hueffmeier, “and grateful to be recognized for the collective efforts and dedication that went into this campaign.”

“What we shared during the campaign is something we’ve all known: Clarksville, Montgomery County is the best place to live! Even during a pandemic, people all over the United States saw how great our community is. Businesses and individuals heard about us and they came, they saw, and they chose to move here. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else,” said Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett.

“It was exciting to be honored as the ‘Best Place to Live in America’ by Money.com,” City of Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts said. “Of course, we wanted to leverage that national attention to continue to attract business, industry and new residents, and our team – which included our in-house communications experts and the right local partners – put together a great strategy and an outstanding campaign. We invite everyone to embrace our Best Place to Live recognition, and join in a continuing celebration of our hometown.”

“Our Thrive team enjoyed working on the brand and website development that celebrates Clarksville’s success, and this additional recognition from the GNRC is another amazing honor,” said Lorilee Rager, Principal + Chief Creative Problem Solver, Thrive Creative Group.
