DICKSON COUNTY, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – 99 dispatchers in Clarksville-Montgomery County delivered gift baskets to emergency personnel in Dickson County in the wake of recent tragedies in Dickson County.
Sgt. Daniel Baker with the Dickson County Sheriff’s Office was shot and killed last week in the line of duty. In April, Dickson County also struggled with the disappearance of 5-year-old Joe Clyde Daniels, whose parents have been charged with his murder.
“Dickson County’s Emergency personnel have faced high stress situations over the past several weeks,” Cityof Clarksville Police & Fire Dispatcher Angee Daniel said. “Its dispatch center, whose actions are not highly visible to the public, have worked late hours, taken numerous calls and dealt with the emotional fallout over this time-frame.”
The dispatchers at Clarksville Police & Fire Dispatch and its partnering agency, Montgomery County 911, raised money to support their fellow dispatchers in Dickson County.
Daniel said they delivered gift baskets filled with snacks and stress relievers to promote goodwill between agencies and to reinforce that the individuals that make up the ‘thin gold line’ of emergency communications will always be there for them.
