CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Two Clarksville Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighters are preparing to compete in the UMMAF National Championship Tournament on May 25 in Elizabethton, TN.

USA Mixed Martial Arts International Federation or UMMAF is a non-profit organization whose mission is to enable US amateur MMA Athletics to achieve sustained competitive excellence, develop character, and support the efforts of amateur mixed martial arts for potential Olympic recognition.

Two local amateur fighters out of the SSF Submission Academy will be compete. If they win each of the three fights of the tournament, they will be flown out to Bahrain in November of 2017 to compete in the UFC fight pass IMMAF Worlds tournament, where they will fight competitors from all over the world.

Meet the fighters:

Jennifer “Macho Miss Jenny Savage” Clausius is a native of Clarksville. She has always dreamed of becoming an Olympic competitor. Jennifer is a blue belt holder in brazilian Jiu jitsu and is the current straw weight champion of Hard Rock MMA with a record of 5 wins and 4 losses.

Hawaii “The Blonde Brawler ” Perez is a fly weight and first started his MMA career in August of 2014. When Hawaii was asked what made him inspired to compete in the world of mixed martial arts, he said it all began when he started seeing it on television everywhere. Hawaii is a submission/knock out artist with a record of (2-1), standing at 5’9.
