CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Dajuan Little, who is running for Mayor of Clarksville in the upcoming November election, has planned a public event for Friday, September 14 at Montgomery County Veterans Plaza at 5 p.m.
According to a press release from Little’s campaign office, he will unveil a solar-powered bus stop bench that he built in his garage to provide seating and covering, as well as light and a place to charge your devices.
“I want to make sure that everyone is safe and comfortable while waiting for the bus. It is important for people to have a charged phone and some source of light at night,” Little said. He said he has listened to the community and its needs, and believes people are “fed up with waiting for public transport at bus stops that do not provide seating or protection from the elements.”
As the first African-American to be a candidate for Clarksville City Mayor, Little said he wants to listen to the community and its needs during his campaign.
“I want to run my campaign by not only telling people what I want to do, but by proving it through actions during the campaign,” he said in a release.
Little currently serves as a Sheriff’s Deputy and volunteers his time to organizations like Meals on Wheels, as well as mowing lawns and providing assistance to constituents in need.
DaJuan and his team will debut the project to the public on September 14, 2018 at 5 p.m. at Veterans Plaza (350 Pageant Lane). He encourages the community to show up and bring cables to charge their phones. He said he looks forward to seeing everyone and continuing to provide innovative solutions for Clarksville’s issues.
