CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A Clarksville man was sent to a Nashville hospital via LifeFlight Friday after being shot while using his cell phone.

On July 26, around 11:50 p.m., Clarksville police responded to a call regarding a shooting on Iris Lane. When they arrived, they found a 25-year-old man inside a vehicle who had been shot.

The victim remains in critical but stable condition.

Based on the limited information provided, the resident of Iris Lane expected the victim’s arrival and was on the phone with him at the time of the incident.

The person on the phone heard what sounded like fireworks outside and the phone connection was lost.

The resident went outside, found the victim had been shot, and called 911.

Clarksville Police canvassed the area and found another Iris Lane resident who heard gunshots, went outside, and saw a white Dodge Challenger or Charger driving north on Iris Ln and then turn on to Mallard Dr.

Police believe the shooting was targeted and not random.

If anyone in the area has video surveillance footage the police are seeking any information which appears to be suspicious. Especially regarding any information on the Challenger or Charger.
