MCEWEN, Tenn. – A Clarksville man was reportedly shot by a deputy Wednesday night in Humphreys County.
Officials with the sheriff’s office told WKRN News 2 the shooting occurred during a traffic stop at 7:15 p.m. on Highway 13 North hear White Oak Road.
Sheriff Chris Davis said the suspect, identified on their Facebook page as 37-year-old Brian Bric of Clarksville, ran into the woods and a deputy saw he was armed and called for back-up.
Bric is accused of raising his gun at law enforcement, prompting the deputy to fire his weapon.
Bric, who the sheriff’s office says has many outstanding felony warrants in Montgomery County, was shot in the hand and transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is taking over the investigation, which is routine.
