CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The driver of one of the vehicles involved in the head-on collision on Ashland City Road Friday evening has died as a result of his injuries. The victim has been identified of Thomas Smith of Clarksville and was pronounced deceased after being transported to Tennova Healthcare.
It was initially reported that one of the drivers had been flown by helicopter, however, that was not the case, said CPD spokesperson Scott Beaubien.
“Two passengers from the second vehicle were airlifted to Nashville and are currently listed in stable condition,” said Beaubien. “The preliminary investigation indicates that Mr. Smith crossed over the center lane and into the path of the second vehicle.” Next of kin have been notified.
