CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A Clarksville man has been found guilty of multiple counts of child rape.

According to court documents, a report was first filed in June 2013 accusing 34-year-old William Thomas Reed of raping a young girl, who was the daughter of his girlfriend at the time.

The complainant said Reed’s victim said she “had a secret” with him and later told her family he had sexual contact with her and made her watch pornography.

The girl, who was six years old at the time of the initial report, said the activity had been going on since she was five.

In May of 2014, lab results from a rape kit conducted by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Crime Lab confirmed that an individual had sexual contact with the child.

On June 21, 2016 a jury found Reed guilty of one count of criminal attempt commit to rape of a child, three counts of child rape, and two counts of exploitation of a minor by electronic means.

Reed’s bond was revoked and he will remain in custody until his sentencing.
