CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A Clarksville man is facing charges in Montgomery County for the kidnapping, rape, and sex trafficking of a 15-year-old girl.

66-year-old Ralph Goodwin was previously convicted and sentenced to 10 years in federal prison after pleading guilty in a Kentucky court.

Court records say he is accused of raping the teen multiple times in August of 2015. Goodwin is also charged with prostitution, sex trafficking, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, aggravated sexual battery, sexual battery, rape, and aggravated kidnapping.

He has been transported to Montgomery County from a correctional institution in Arkansas where he has been serving his current sentence.

A previous arrest warrant for Goodwin says he coerced the girl into prostitution. She was reported missing in Kentucky and thanks to a tip, was found at Goodwin’s Clarksville home on Fantasia Way.

Police went to his home and found the girl sitting in a chair in the living room. She reportedly wouldn’t tell deputies who she was but later confirmed her identity.

Goodwin allegedly knew her age, according to the girl, and had sex with her while at his home.

Goodwin was initially indicted the Montgomery County Grand Jury in September of 2015. He was booked into the Montgomery County Jail last Thursday. It is unclear when his next court appearance will be.
