CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) A Clarksville man has been arrested and charged for allegedly placing a camera in an American Eagle Outfitters fitting room.

According to an arrest warrant, 24-year-old Colton Cade Wilson is charged with two counts of unlawful photographing in violation of privacy, false reports, and tampering with evidence after the hidden camera was found in the fitting room of the store at Governors Square Mall.

Wilson was an employee at the store at the time of the alleged crime.

Police say the camera, disguised as a clothing hook, was placed in the store between June 19 and June 21. Two unsuspecting female customers were photographed. The warrant states the women had a reasonable expectation of privacy inside the fitting room.

Police said American Eagle Outfitters has been fully cooperating with the investigation.

American Eagle Outfitters provided the following statement to Clarksvillenow.com: “The privacy and security of our customers and associates are of utmost importance to American Eagle Outfitters.  The employee has been terminated, and we have been cooperating with authorities as they conduct their investigation.  Since the investigation is still active, we ask that you direct additional inquiries to law enforcement.”

Wilson told police he hid the camera in the fitting room to view the recordings later for sexual gratification.

Detectives are currently looking through the images and would like anyone who believes they may be a victim to call the Clarksville Police Department at 931-648-0656.
