CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Attempted murder charges have been brought in the investigation of an attempted armed robbery at the Exxon Hi Road at Dover Crossing that resulted in the shooting of a gas station clerk in February.

According to a news release from Clarksville Police Detective Michael Patterson, 21-year-old Queonte’ Turner-Pinnix has been charged with first-degree attempted murder, aggravated attempted robbery, weapon possession as a convicted felon and employ firearm intent to go armed in relation to the shooting.

Turner-Pinnix was being held at the Montgomery County Jail on unrelated charges.

On Feb. 22 at about 1:40 a.m., Turner-Pinnix allegedly shot the 40-year-old clerk at 293 Dover Road. After the shooting, the clerk was taken to a Nashville hospital in critical condition but survived.

Surveillance video of the incident, shared by CPD later that day, showed the suspect armed with a handgun, and wearing black clothing, a red face covering and purple gloves.

Additionally, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Clarksville Police Department offered a $5,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the attempted robbery and shooting at the beginning of March.

Detective Koski is the lead investigator on the case, the news release said.
