CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) A Clarksville man is in custody Sunday, suspected of shooting and killing his aunt. Clarksville Police conducted a homicide investigation in the Garth Drive area around 11:30 am.

The call came in to police as a shooting that had already occurred. When officers arrived they found a woman inside the residence, who had sustained gunshot wounds. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police have charged Bobby James Bryant, 21, with Criminal Homicide in conjunction with the death of his aunt, Barbara Penrod, 66, at the residence they shared together.

During an interview with the suspect it was confirmed that Bryant was the person who had shot and killed his aunt.
