CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A man who police believe is responsible for aggravated robbery at a Trenton Rd. business was arrested Thursday, Sept. 3.
The incident occurred Aug. 23 at the Exxon Hi-Road at 3880 Trenton Rd. around 3 a.m.
According to an arrest warrant, the store clerk told police that a black male wearing a headband to cover his face displayed a handgun and demanded money. He forced the clerk down on the floor before taking bills from the cash register.
The suspect then allegedly went into the office, heard a customer enter the business, and chased the customer out. The suspect then fled toward Northeast Dr. where K9 trackers lost his trail.
Police later determined that the suspect was 21-year-old Michael Eugene Sykes. He was arrested Sept. 3 and charged with aggravated robbery and aggravated assault.
