HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A Clarksville man has been arrested for allegedly robbing a convenience store at gunpoint.
According to a press release, 54-year-old Felix Valdes entered the Shell Convenience Store at 1411 East 9th Street May 30 at 10:20 p.m. He is accused of brandishing a firearm and demanding money from the clerk.
After getting the money, Valdes left the store in his vehicle.
Law enforcement located Valdes in the early morning hours of May 31 while he was getting into his vehicle in Oak Grove. Valdes attempted to drive past a police vehicle with emergency lights activated and then put his vehicle in reverse and tried to get away.
Hopkinsville Police and the Christian County Sheriff’s Department were able to box in Valdes’ vehicle and take him into custody.
He was charged with 1st Degree Robbery and 1st Degree Fleeing and Evading Police and booked into the Christian County Jail.
