CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) – On Wednesday, December 12, the Cumberland Winds Brass Quintet will bring its holiday concert to the Clarksville public library from 6:30-7 p.m. The Brass Quintet is a highly versatile and talented group that can play music ranging from the renaissance to today’s favorites.

The Cumberland Winds is made up of musicians who play in a variety of groups in diverse venues. Their goal is “to create an environment that fosters music in the greater Cumberland River area through public concerts, musical support of private events, musical training, and master classes.”

The 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) Band will perform in the atrium of the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library on Thursday, December 13 from 6-7:00 p.m.  The show will feature several different types of musical groupings for an hour-long concert. Musical offerings will be holiday standards played both traditionally and with a jazzy flair, with vocal performances by band members.

The band’s history dates back to 1942, and though the band has undergone many changes, their mission remains the same: “to provide the soldiers and families of Fort Campbell, Kentucky and the surrounding communities with first class musical support.”

Both performances will feature holiday music and be free of charge.
