MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – A magnificent effort by Veronica Westfall carried Siegel to a 6-1 win in seven innings over Clarksville on Wednesday at Starplex #1.
Westfall blasted two home runs for Siegel. Westfall went 2-3 in the game with three RBIs and two runs scored. Westfall homered in the first and fourth innings.
Siegel came out swinging, scoring four runs in the first inning to jump ahead of Clarksville early. Siegel scored in the first on a solo home run by Westfall, a solo home run by Jensen McElroy, a solo home run by Caitlyn McCrary, and an error.
Siegel hit four home runs in the win. Additional home runs for Siegel came when Westfall homered in the first and fourth innings.
Westfall struck out 12, paving the way for a Siegel win. Westfall allowed one earned run, three hits and five walks over seven innings.
Lindsey Eldridge ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. She allowed six runs in six innings, walked one and struck out four.
The third inning saw Clarksville score its only run on the day on an RBI single by Macey Milliken.
