CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Clarksville Lacrosse Club hosted Page High School for the Wildcats’ Senior Day on Sunday, April 30.

Clarksville held off the Patriots’ comeback attempt to win their final home game of the season, 9-7. The win moved the hosts to 5-6 on the season, but they missed the playoffs, so the run has ended.

Lacrosse on rise

The sport of lacrosse has been gaining momentum in Tennessee for a while. After several years of “no” votes and delays, the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) board voted unanimously in January to sanction the sport beginning with the 2024-25 school year.

These delays have not stopped organizations like the Clarksville Lacrosse Club from stepping up to build the sport in our area. While they now go with the Wildcats mascot and wear purple and gold, the team is composed of players from various high schools in town.

The program looks to build players up so that by the time the sport is official at the high school level, the athletes will be ready to compete. In fact, the club has middle and elementary school teams as well.
