CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – In a resumed game due to weather on Friday night, the Clarksville Wildcats traveled back to Rossview High School Saturday to finish out the Warfield Shield rivalry game.

While the only scoring for either side was an Ahvare Galbreath touchdown, that was all the Wildcats needed for a 38-6 win with a running clock in the second half, winning the Warfield Shield for the eighth straight year.

The Wildcats picked up right where they left off Friday Night, with Galbreath powering it from 15 yards out. Neither team got on the board for the rest of the contest, but thanks to their scoring Friday night, the Wildcats cruised to their eighth straight win in the rivalry and their first win of the season.

“We’re just not playing good football, that’s the reality,” said Rossview head coach Stratie Young. “We can give all the excuses in the world, but at some point, we need to make a change. It’s frustrating because we know we have the pieces to turn it around. There are some things that went well, but we have to be more consistent, resilient, and good things will come.”

As for Clarksville High, it’s a huge rebound after a 0-2 start. The Wildcats dominated this game from start to finish, and hope to use it as momentum heading into the middle of the season.

“We finally got the players healthy all together,” said Wildcats head coach Isaac Shelby. “Our defense is very fundamentally sound, and there are some really talented guys on that side of the ball. Any win against Rossview, we’re gonna take; it always feels good. Now we just have to get back to work and get ready for next week.”
