CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Clarksville High girls’ basketball team continued their winning ways on Wednesday night after clinching a regional championship victory over Rossview High School.
The Lady Wildcats controlled the game from the opening tip and led the Hawks by double-digits at the end of each quarter. When it was said and done, CHS won by a total of 58-43 and moved their perfect record to 30-0.
One of Clarksville High’s keys to victory was the fact that the team had three players finish in double-figures, including junior guard Malon Smith, who compiled 26 points and 5 three-pointers. Meanwhile, CHS senior guard Imari Berry scored 17 points and senior forward Ella Moore scored 12 points, according to CHS head coach Brian Rush.
With the win, Clarksville High secured their second consecutive regional championship win and is scheduled to host the Collierville High Dragons in sectionals on Saturday, March 2, at 7 p.m.
As for the Rossview Lady Hawks, with their loss to CHS, the team will travel to Bartlett High to take on the Panthers who are coming off a 56-39 win over Collierville. The game between the two sides is scheduled for Saturday, March 2, as well.
