CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Rossview Hawks traveled across Warfield Boulevard for a volleyball rivalry matchup with the Clarksville High Wildcats on Tuesday night. The match, played in Clarksville High’s main gym due to the giant crowd, was a 3-0 sweep for Clarksville, which pushed their record to 24-0 on the 2025-26 season.
The first set was back and forth between the two rivals, with neither team being able to pull ahead. That was until a 4-0 run from Clarksville High, highlighted by some furious kills from senior outside hitter Keira Garinger.
The Wildcats went on to win the set 25-20, and the second set was the same story. Back and forth early, but another late Clarksville run allowed the Wildcats to pull away for a 25-17 set victory.

“When it’s the Rossview game, you can throw the records out,” said Wildcats head coach Glen Fox. “It’s fun and good competition. In order to win games, we need runs, and we practice that. If we can string together multiple runs, we’re going to be tough to beat. It’s something we work on, and it’s good to see it come to fruition.”
The Wildcats continued their momentum into the third set, starting off with a 10-0 lead. The Hawks fought back, but couldn’t get enough points to make it close, and fell 25-10 in the final set.
With the victory, it gave the Wildcats the sweep in the match, and the regular season sweep of the two matchups between the squads this year. For Rossview, it’s been a process for the first-year head coach and former all-state athlete at Rossview, Jenny Richardson, implementing her culture.

“We got frustrated and didn’t make adjustments,” said Richardson. “We were Rossview, but at like 75%, and we need to execute at 100% against a good team. We just have to get back to having fun. I tell them all the time, what do we have to lose. We’re still developing our program, but at the end of the day I want my girls to have fun.”
Clarksville High has only lost three sets all season and are a few short games away from some major history. However, Fox isn’t worried about that right now, he’s just concerned about his team getting better every day.
“It’s always good to beat a rival,” said Fox. “This is a big week for us; we’re going to find out quick how good we really are and what we’re made of. It’s just a day-by-day process, and when we get the opportunity to take the next step, we have to take it.”
