CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Northeast High Eagles traveled to Exit 11 for a district matchup with the Wildcats from Clarksville High on Thursday, Sept. 5. While the Eagles battled it out and had some strong individual performances, Clarksville High dominated and won three straight sets.

Right out the gate, CHS was able to build a quick lead by winning the first two sets by a scores of 25-14 and 25-9. Clarksville High head coach Glen Fox said he loved the execution he saw from his squad to open up the game.

“It was a great game for us, we played pretty flawless tonight,” Fox told Clarksville Now. “We had our A-game, played hard tonight, and got the job done. I’m proud of the girls for doing what they’re supposed to do.”

Clarksville High won the third and final set by a score of 25-13 to capture the victory against Northeast High. For Eagles head coach Joyce Williams, she knows there’s a lot to be improved on overall as a team.

“If we can put everything together, we can compete with those top tier teams like Clarksville (High),” Williams said. “It’s just we started slow, and you can’t start slow against a team like that.”
