CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – In the same week she was honored for scoring more than 2,000 career points, Clarksville High senior guard Imari Berry has been named Clarksville Now Player of the Week.

Berry, who is a top 10 recruit and Clemson Tigers women’s basketball commit, has played a pivotal role in the Lady Wildcats, starting their season with an undefeated record.

During the week of Jan. 1, Clarksville High played two opponents: the Beech High Buccaneers and the Kirkwood High Cobras. Berry shined throughout each matchup.

In their game against the Buccaneers, the senior guard couldn’t be stopped on the offensive end and helped lead the Wildcats to their first victory of the week. Berry dropped 33 points and also had 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks.

Meanwhile, Berry’s presence on defense is what stuck out against the Kirkwood High Cobras and helped lead the team to yet another victory. She was able to finish the game with a double-double in points and steals. In total, she compiled 21 points, 10 steals, 5 rebounds and 5 assists.

As the Clarksville High Wildcats continue to chase perfection, their next test will be against their inner-city rival – the Rossview High Lady Hawks. This will be their first of two matchups during the 2023-24 season, and the game is scheduled for Jan .16.
