CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Clarksville High senior guard Malon Smith has been named Clarksville Now Player of the Week following her dominant play over the holiday break. In that time frame, the Wildcats went 2-0 and defeated Community Christian and Jo Byrns in the White House Christmas Tournament.
“Malon has grown into a team leader and is always looking to make the team better,” said Clarksville High head coach Brian Rush. “She is a great mentor, and, as great leaders do, leads by example. Currently, Malon leads the team in scoring, rebounding, assists and steals.”

Smith did it all for the Wildcats in the two contests, scoring 22 points with five rebounds, four assists and four steals in the win against Community Christian High. Then, as an encore performance, she scored 20 points against Jo Byrns High, while adding three rebounds, five assists and five steals to her totals.
Smith has been a major part of the Wildcats’ undefeated start to the season, which now sits at 13-0. She and the Wildcats are looking to complete their second straight undefeated regular season, which would be the first time in county history if accomplished.
