CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – James Dalrymple has been named Clarksville Now Player of the Week following his performance in the Wildcats 44-7 win against West Creek High. The senior running back and linebacker had 12 carries for 143 yards and two touchdowns, as well as three tackles, a tackle for loss and a sack on the defensive side of the ball.

Under the spotlight

On Friday night’s game, it was Clarksville High’s homecoming game, but it was more than that. They had a huge inner-city matchup with the Coyotes, and Dalrymple answered the call, as he’s done all season.

The senior running back has now compiled 370 rushing yards, 40 receiving yards, 11 tackles, two tackles for a loss and five total touchdowns so far into the 2024-25 season.

“James is really tough and a good player,” said Clarksville High head coach Isaac Shelby. “He is strong, has great balance and is a key leader to our football team.”

When Clarksville Now asked Dalrymple about what this award means to him, he chose to give the spotlight to his teammates, coaches and specifically his offensive lineman, explaining how none of this would be possible without the people around him.

“It’s a great honor to know that my performance was picked over many of the other great athletes in the city,” Dalrymple said. “It goes deeper than what most people will see because it’s not just me that won Player of the Week, it was also my lineman and coaches. Without them setting me up in good positions and the line blocking, I couldn’t have done what I did this week.”
