CLARKSVILLE, TN − Since its inception, The Clarksville High School Band has been an integral part of music, football games, education, and a tradition of excellence in the Clarksville community. The idea for the Clarksville High School Band was sparked by a halftime show performed by the Hopkinsville High School Band during a football game between the two schools in 1933.
Fast forward 91 years to 2024, and the band proudly continues its legacy, performing at community, state, and regional events each year. This year, the Clarksville Band has the incredible honor of performing in the Bands of America Grand National Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana, on Nov. 14. Competing alongside 110 of the nation’s top bands, they will represent the Clarksville community for the first time on this national stage.
Clarksville High School is one of only six bands from the entire state of Tennessee attending this event, a testament to the dedication and hard work of their students and directors. They hope to bring pride and recognition to the Clarksville community and showcase the tradition of excellence that defines the Clarksville Band.
Participating in Bands of America, a premier organization dedicated to providing positive, life-changing experiences for high school musicians through competitive and educational events across the country, is an extraordinary opportunity for our students. The Grand National Championships is BOA’s flagship event, bringing together top bands from across the nation to celebrate and showcase the best in music education and performance.
Thank you to all who contribute to the success of the Clarksville High School Band and support their mission to inspire and elevate young musicians. Special thank you to the CHS administration, Gateway Tire, and the CHS Band Boosters for their support.
