CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Clarksville High School junior guard Imari Berry has officially been graded as a five-star recruit, according to an update on the ESPN recruiting rankings.
Berry has made quite the name for herself at the local and national level. She’s coming off a season where she was named a Miss Basketball finalist for the second consecutive year and averaged 26.1 points per game.
In addition to her personal accolades, she helped lead the Clarksville High girls’ team to a state tournament, quarterfinal appearance this past season.
Coming into her junior season, Berry was labeled a four-star recruit and ranked 32nd in the nation. Then her production from this past season elevated her to move up 20 spots to 12th in the nation.
Berry is one of the most sought-after players in the world of women’s college basketball. She’s received offers from the University of Tennessee, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Louisville and Connecticut. She remains uncommitted for the time being, but her decision should take place over the next year as she’s going into her senior season.
Shane Laflin, who is a sitting McDonald’s AA Committee member, had this to say about Berry following the recruiting update: “Imari Berry … went on a scoring tear this year. She is long and bouncy and plays the game with a zest and flair that adds entertainment value. She has supreme ball skills, deep range on her 3, the ability to pull up and knock down jumpers, and is a playmaking passer.”

“Imari has worked hard on her game and continues to add elements to her skillset,” said Clarksville High Girls Basketball Coach Brian Rush. “Like all great players, she always strives to be better and refuses to have a ceiling. This past year saw her stats increase in all aspects… points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocked shots.”
