CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Henry County Lady Patriots and Clarksville Lady Wildcats met up at West Creek High School Wednesday for the Region 7-4A title game, a rematch of last year’s championship. The Patriots got their revenge from last season, winning 44-30, and sending the Wildcats to Bartlett for a win-or-go-home substate matchup.
The two teams were tied at seven after one minute of play, before Henry County stretched their lead to 19-12 at the halftime break, thanks to three three-pointers from Patriot guard Reed Jackson. Henry County then nearly doubled its first-half scoring output in the third quarter, highlighted by 12 points from Nakiyah Moore, while holding Clarksville to only six in the period. Ally Howard tried to captain a comeback in the fourth, hitting two three-pointers, but the lead was too big to overcome for the Wildcats.

“Henry County came out and played well,” said Wildcats head coach Ellie Clause. “We had to switch up our rotation because things didn’t go our way early. Regardless of the score, they never gave up and continued to try to claw back into it.”
What’s next for Clarksville High girls
The Wildcats’ season will continue, and they’ll take a trip to 901 Memphis, to take on the Panthers at Bartlett High School on Monday night, with a trip to the state tournament on the line. This is the fourth straight year Clarksville High has played in a sectional, and they are 2-1 in that span, with their only loss coming last year at home to Whitehaven.
“No one’s excited to lose, but I’m just glad we get to play one more,” said Claus. “There are a lot of teams that would love to be in our position, still playing. Regardless, I’m proud of my group and the growth they’ve shown this season, win or lose on Monday.”
