CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Hopkinsville Tigers, coming off a huge rivalry victory against Christian County, visited Hilda J. Richardson field for a matchup with the undefeated Wildcats. While it was close in the first half, the Wildcats used three third quarter touchdowns to pull away, winning 35-14 to stay undefeated, and stretch their regular season inning streak to 14.
The first quarter was dominated by running back James Dalrymple, as he collected two touchdowns in the first 12 minutes of the game. There were a lot of mistakes in the second quarter that kept the game within reach for the Tigers, and Clarksville head coach Isaac Shelby told his guys at half that they just needed to ease up a little.

Clarksville came out of the locker room in the second half on fire, scoring three touchdowns within four minutes of each other in the third quarter. They held that lead to the final horn, winning 35-14, and starting 4-0 for the second straight year.
“This is a momentum-based team, and we just grabbed it and ran with it,” said Shelby. “They just have to grab that and take it when it’s there, when we do that, we’re a really good football team.”
Up next, the Wildcats have a huge region showdown with the Coyotes from West Creek next week.
