CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) The Clarksville High baseball team has started an online campaign to raise funds for equipment, travel and fees associated with tournament play.
The campaign utilizes the Snap! Raise website, which specializes in team-sports fundraising.
According to the team, “the cost of providing a competitive program far exceeds the school’s budget. We depend on community support to provide a quality, character-building program.”
The campaign represents a new and sophisticated approach to fundraising that explains the need, outlines how funds will be used and provides some personal perspective from head coach Brian Hetland.
“We are blessed to have a remarkable team of exceptional young men and your generosity provides the resources needed to make the most of their hard work and talent,” he said.
Donations will pay for repair and purchase of equipment, practice gear, travel, tournament fees, pre-game meals and uniforms.
“With so many non-profits seeking community support, fundraising is always a challenge for school teams because of limited time and resources,” said Scott Chase of ESPN Clarksville. “The response to the campaign shows the team has really earned the support of the community.
