CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – After clinching their latest region semifinal victories, the Clarksville High Wildcats and Rossview High Hawks are set to meet for a third time this season in the region 7-3A championship game on Thursday, Oct. 17.

CHS was able to clinch their place in the region championship after downing Dickson County in an elimination game. In the end, the Wildcats left no doubt after scoring eight goals for an 8-1 victory. Bekah Allen scored three goals for Clarksville High and Raegan Griffith scored two goals herself.

Meanwhile, for Rossview High, they hosted the Henry County Patriots in an elimination game as well. While it may have taken the Hawks some time to get going offensively, Casey Steel found the back of the net in the 25th minute to put Rossview up 1-0. Then, Olivia Stuart followed suit with two goals of her own before the halftime buzzer sounded, with one goal coming off an assist from Caitlin Desantis.

The Hawks went on to score two more goals in the second half, courtesy of Kailei Kaneshiro and Cassaundra Villa, to clinch a 5-0 victory.

Now, the two teams will renew their rivalry for a third time during the 2024-25 season. Previously, the two teams split their matchups, but there’s a whole lot more at stake going into their next contest. The winner will be the one to host a sub-state game on Saturday, Oct. 19, while the loser will travel during the next round. Regardless of result, both teams will play for a chance to go to the state tournament.

The region championship game is scheduled to take place at Rossview High School on Thursday, with a 6 p.m. start time.
