CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Clarksville High Wildcats, Rossview Hawks, Kirkwood Cobras, and Springfield Yellow Jackets all met up at Northeast High School to compete in the district 13-4A volleyball semifinals and elimination games on Tuesday night.

CHS defeated Springfield 3-0 to end the Yellow Jackets’ season, and Kirkwood edged out Rossview, 3-2, in an intense matchup that also ended the Hawks’ season and advanced the Cobras program to their first-ever district championship game.

Wildcats continue to dominate

Clarksville High started their postseason run the same way they’ve played all season, dominantly. Clarksville won 25-11, 25-17, and 25-16 in straight sets to eliminate Springfield.

Keira Garinger led the way with 11 kills, 10 digs, and one ace, while Avery Hawkins added nine kills, and Regan Steinsultz added eight digs.

Cobras come back from 0-2 to save season

Rossview started off their game hot, winning set one easily by a score of 25-14. While Kirkwood battled in the second set, Rossview took a narrow win 25-23 to take a commanding 2-0 lead.

With their season on the line, the Cobras fought back for two straight set wins, both by a score of 25-23, to force a fifth set. Rossview was up 14-13 with a chance to win but was called for an over-the-net violation, giving the point to Kirkwood. The Cobras then finished it off with a serve from Jada Taylor to win 16-14, earning them their first-ever win over Rossview and the program’s first postseason win.

The Wildcats and Cobras will meet up on Wednesday Night for the district 13-4A championship game at Northeast High School at 6:00 p.m. After Tuesday’s set of games, the All-District 13-4A team was announced, which included Clarksville High head coach Glen Fox receiving the coach of the year award.
