CLARKSVILLE, TN − The Clarksville Headhunters is experiencing a surge in membership this season. With an increase in players, this local rugby team is not only growing in numbers but also in community spirit and enthusiasm for the sport.

The recent spike in membership can be attributed to several key initiatives. The Headhunters have focused on recruitment drives that effectively highlight the benefits of joining the team, including fitness, teamwork, and the joy of playing rugby. A major factor behind this growth is the team’s commitment to solidify a women’s team. Through social media and spotlight on the women’s Olympic sevens team, The Headhunters have cultivated interest among women.

With more players joining, plans are underway to enter additional leagues and tournaments.

The team is riding high on a two-win streak. The first match against Nashville in the Tennessee Cup did not end with a W, but instead showed exactly what improvements needed to be made, and they did just that. Their second match against Murfreesboro in the Tennessee Cup demonstrated their ability to dominate, outpacing their opponents and maintaining possession. Their third match against Chattanooga brought home their second win this season.
