CLARKSVILLE, Tenn (CLARSKVILLENOW) – Clarksville Guns & Archery broke ground on a new shooting range Wednesday, July 31 after the original building was destroyed by fire in March of this year.

While unconfirmed, Police believe the fire began in the attic due to an electrical issue. The blaze caused significant structural damage, leaving the range unusable.

The new range will be built on Old Ashland City Road, the same location as the original.

According to owner John McConnell, the new range will be longer than the original and will feature more lanes. The facility will also have interactive, spinning targets, adding a level of engagement for guests.

Expected completion for the new range is 60-90 days, at which point Clarksville Guns & Archery will hold a pre-grand opening party for their current members, offering them first use of the new facility as thanks for their patience throughout the rebuilding process.

Clarksville Guns & Archery opened in April of 2012. Alongside their retail business, they offer TN handgun carry permit classes as well as various range classes and workshops.
