CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The City of Clarksville’s Parks & Recreation Department along with Mayor Kim McMillan celebrated the official grand opening of Section I of the Heritage Park Greenway Connection with a ribbon cutting Monday, January 5.
“We are excited to open another section of the Clarksville Greenway. This is 3/10 of a mile from Mary’s Oak Trailhead to Peacher’s Mill Road” said Mark Tummons, Clarksville Parks & Recreation Department Director.

Tummons thanked the Clarksville parks & Recreation staff for their contribution to the project and for the work they will do to maintain the site for years to come. The total length of the Clarksville Greenway is currently at 4.55 miles.

Tummons also thanked the Clarksville Street Department for their effort in completing this section and added that they are also working on the next section of trail expected to open in the spring of 2015 that will go through Heritage Park to the 101st Parkway pedestrian overpass.
