Updated, 9:45 a.m.: The chance of snow in Clarksville tonight is rising, according to National Weather Service alert.

“Confidence is increasing in snowfall accumulations across Middle Tennessee beginning Friday night through at least Saturday morning. “Rain showers will transition to snow showers late tonight into the early morning hours tomorrow. Bridges and overpasses could become slick late this evening as the transition occurs.”

Here’s the updated forecast:

Previously:

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Snow is in the forecast for Clarksville on Friday night, but that forecast ranges from nothing to 2 inches of accumulation.

The most likely outcome, if we get snow, is less than a half-inch for Montgomery County, according to meteorologist John Cohen with the National Weather Service.

“We will see a little bit of snowfall.  It’s not going to be a lot of accumulation, a quarter of an inch, maybe up to a half inch is possible but with colder temperatures roadways could get a little slick,” said Cohen.

We have a chance of rain Friday afternoon, and if it happens, that rain will turn to all snow starting between 6 and 9 p.m.
