CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – This spring, Clarksville Parks & Recreation invites swimmers of all ages to take the plunge with the Clarksville Flying Fish Swim Team sponsored by Water Dogs Scuba & Safety.

Whether you’re looking to fine-tune your skills, embrace a new challenge, or join a community of passionate swimmers, the Flying Fish have a lane for you. With two programs designed to meet the needs of swimmers 7 to 18 and adults 18 and older, this year’s season is poised to bring our community together through the sport of swimming.

For Competitive Swimmers (Ages 7-18)

The Clarksville Flying Fish Competitive Swim Team is more than a team. It’s a commitment to growth, discipline, and teamwork.

Athletes ages 7 to 18 will dive into a season that blends technical excellence with an environment that inspires them to reach their full potential. From sportsmanship to mental resilience, the program develops life skills alongside swimming success.

Parents interested in learning more can attend the Parent Information Meeting on March 17 from 6-7 p.m. at Freedom Point inside Liberty Park. Registration for open tryouts will be available on March 18, 2025.

The tryouts will occur on April 10 from 5-7 PM at New Providence Pool. Participants who make the team will be notified on April 11, 2025.

A $100 registration fee to secure their spot is due no later than April 14, 2025. This fee supports their journey into a season of competition, camaraderie, and growth.

For Adults (Masters Program, Ages 18+)

The Masters Swim Program offers adults of all skill levels a chance to dive into fitness and fun. Open to anyone 18 and older, this program provides a supportive environment for personal growth, skill refinement, and social connection. Whether you’re training for an event or simply want to stay active, the Masters team is a community ready to cheer you on.

Masters registration opens on March 3, with practices beginning on April 14. Participants will meet three times a week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) from 7:30-8:30 a.m. at New Providence Pool. Spaces are limited to the first 30 registrants, so early registration is encouraged.

“We’re so excited to welcome swimmers of all ages this season,” said Kimberly Gilbert, Aquatics Superintendent. “The Flying Fish Swim Team is more than just swimming. It’s about connecting with others, building confidence, and reaching personal goals.

“Whether you’re joining us for fun, fitness, or competition, we can’t wait to see you in the water,” she said.
