CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) The Clarksville High School gymnasium was the place and the Hometown Heroes Kickball Tournament was the event as eight local teams battled for the top spot and a chance to win $1,000 for the charity of their choice.

Teams participating included:

Ballbarians – Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office
Great Balls of Fire – Montgomery County Emergency Medical Service
Mayor’s Misfits – Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett’s Office
Roll Tide – Clarksville Police Department
High School Teachers – Clarksville High School/Rossview High School
Bad News Bengals – Barksdale Elementary School
Pitches Be Trippin – Megan Lee and Associates
Kickin’ Brass – Clarksvlle Fire Rescue

The Kickin Brass team of firefighters came out blazing against the Mayor’s Misfits in the championship game and grabbed the trophy as well as the $1,000, which the firefighters decided to donate to the YMCA’s After Breast Cancer program. The firefighters are also planning to kick start their breast cancer awareness month t-shirt fundraiser.

The event was hosted by students from the Clarksville High School Academy of Business and Finance and the Chick-fil-A Leader Academy.
