CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Clarksville Fire Rescue responded to the scene of a house fire at 451 Current Road late Thursday morning.
Clarksville Fire Marshall Ray Williams said when firefighters arrived they found the home totally engulfed in heavy smoke.
Williams said there was a concern about the water supply when firefighters arrived because hydrants can freeze in the very cold temperatures but that proved not to be a problem. The Clarksville Department of Electricity was also called because of live electrical wires.
The roof collapsed as firefighters fought the blaze and the home is considered a total loss.
No injuries were reported involving one resident who lived there and who was not home at the time of the fire. It has not been confirmed, but there was a report of the possible loss of cats that were pets inside the house.
