Clarksville, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Clarksville Fire Rescue had a promotion ceremony for three firefighters that have been promoted to Engineer.
On Jan. 30, Fire Chief Freddie Montgomery officiated the ceremony with Mayor Joe Pitts.
Family, friends, and co-workers were in attendance to witness the occasion when Firefighters William Lyle, Dustin Nall, and Kenneth Vickrey were promoted to Engineer.
They have all received their assignments and reported to their shifts.
“The recent promotion process has proven to be a great measure of skill, intelligence, seniority, and performance, ” Chief Montgomery said. “The Engineers position could be viewed as one of the most important positions on the fireground as the apparatus serves as the carrier of our most precious asset and the lifeline to any firefighter performing interior fire suppression duties. I take pride in the fact that this process has weighed five important categories and through the efforts of 20 applicants and 3 months of testing has produced very capable candidates.”
Clarksville Fire Rescue’s promotion process is highly competitive and many qualified candidates applied for the positions.
