CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – With the remnants of Hurricane Helene trudging toward Tennessee, heavy rain is falling across the region, and 4-5 inches of rain is expected in Clarksville before it’s all over.
As of 8 a.m., Clarksville has recorded 1.5 inches of rain already today, according to NWS gauges at Outlaw Field.

Montgomery and surrounding counties are under a Flood Watch through Saturday morning. “Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams and other low-lying and flood-prone locations,” the National Weather Service alert said. “Low-water crossings may be flooded.”
Also, a Wind Advisory has been issued through 7 a.m. Saturday, with winds expected at 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.
“Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result,” the NWS said. “Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.”

- Saturday night: Showers likely, mainly before 1am. Cloudy, with a low around 61. West wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
- Sunday: A 50 percent chance of showers, mainly after 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 72. West wind around 5 mph.
