The Clarksville Industrial Development Board (IDB) wants to know your employment status and offer those unemployed in our community a chance to get back on their feet.
Take the survey below and enter to win a Chromebook or a gift certificate to Governor’s Square Mall – prizes representing the resources needed to apply for jobs and buy clothing for interviews. Two different winners will be chosen.
The IDB wants citizens to know they have and continue to work to bring job opportunities to Clarksville-Montgomery County for the approximately 8,028 unemployed people from Clarksville’s labor force as of December 2020.
The good news is jobs are available.
“Locally, we have several companies who have expanded and are continuously recruiting – that growth means readily available employment opportunities for our residents,” said Michelle Hueffmeier, VP of Communications & Marketing. “Opportunity truly lives here – with roughly 4,800 unique positions posted in January alone in Montgomery County according to EMSI.”
Those 4,800 job openings are posted on jobs4tn.com, ClarksvilleIsHiring and similar job board sites.
Through global business development initiatives, the Clarksville-Industrial Development Board created a little over 1,400 jobs alone in 2020. Additionally, 900 jobs were added through the expansion of Agero Inc. and another 500 jobs were added with the announcement of CBE Companies locating in Clarksville.
“Both companies are actively seeking candidates and provide entry-level employee training. Additionally, the Industrial Readiness Training (IRT) program, offered at Nashville State is a prime example of free, immediately available skills training for entry-level positions,” said AJ Geary, IDB Director of Talent.
About the survey
The seven-question survey will help provide the IDB with more information about unemployment in Clarksville and the circumstances that have led to and have kept individuals unemployed.
“We want the community informed on the resources available to help them find local employment openings and the various free training opportunities. By sharing their employment status and the tools used in their job search, we can better engage job seekers – and share local services they may not know are available,” Hueffmeier said.
“While the unemployment rate is trending down, and the Clarksville-Montgomery County community is on its way to a full recovery, the message to share is opportunities are here for those seeking employment in Clarksville,” she said.
