CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW)- The Clarksville-Montgomery County Driver Services Center, located at 220 W. Dunbar Cave Road, had an empty parking lot Tuesday morning.
A sign on the door, said “Due to circumstances beyond our control the Clarksville Drivers Center will be closed on Monday, July 13 and Tuesday, July 14 and reopen Wednesday, July 15.”
However, Wesley Moster, director of Communications for the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security, said the center will not reopen on July 15 as expected.
“The Clarksville Driver Services Center is closed due to a shortage of personnel due to health reasons,” Moster said. “The Center will not reopen tomorrow (Wednesday) as originally planned. A reopening date will be announced when a date has been decided.”
Specifics about whether the illness was COVID-19 related were not answered.
“Unfortunately, I can’t get into specifics due to HIPAA,” Moster said.
