CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW)- Domino’s Pizza in Clarksville and the Clarksville Fire Rescue are celebrating Fire Safety Week with a fun event that could include free pizza. All you need are working fire alarms.

In honor of Fire Prevention Week, which is Oct. 6-12, Clarksville Domino’s, located at 1206 State Highway 48, and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) are teaming up with Clarksville Fire Rescue to promote fire safety. Anyone ordering a Domino’s Pizza next week has the chance to be randomly selected and surprised at the door with delivery via fire engine.

On Oct. 10 and 11, from 3-5 p.m., anyone who orders a Domino’s pizza will be automatically entered into the random drawing. When their surprise delivery arrives, if the smoke alarms in their home are working, the pizza is free.

If the smoke alarms are not working, the firefighters will install fully-functioning alarms or replace the batteries.

“Fire safety is extremely important,” said Antonio Murgas, Clarksville Domino’s franchise owner. “We’re excited to partner with the NFPA and Clarksville Fire Rescue for a program that not only promotes the safety of our friends and neighbors but rewards those who make fire safety a priority.”

This year’s Fire Prevention Week campaign theme is: “Not Every Hero Wears a Cape. Plan and Practice Your Escape!”

“In a typical home fire, you may have as little as one to two minutes to escape safely from the time the smoke alarm sounds,” said Freddie Montgomery, fire chief at Clarksville Fire Rescue. “Escape planning and practice can help you make the most of the time you have, giving everyone enough time to get out. These steps can make all of the difference and we hope to raise awareness about them through our partnership with Domino’s.”

Customers can call Domino’s in Clarksville at 931-542-4220 to place their order and be eligible for the fire engine delivery.
