CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A military couple who recently settled in Clarksville will be featured on the newest episode of House Hunters on HGTV.
Megan Whitehead-Vaughan and her husband Jon Vaughan planned a move to the area after Jon received orders to be stationed at Fort Campbell. Both are natives of West Tennessee, so the move allowed them to be closer to family and friends.
“We were so excited to find out we were getting Fort Campbell as our next duty station,” Megan said.
Megan, who is a huge fan of House Hunters, was watching the show while the couple was still living in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas and decided to apply to be filmed for an episode. She didn’t expect anything to come of it and was surprised when the producers showed an interest in their story.
The film crew captured footage of Megan and Jon at the home they were renting in Fort Leavenworth before traveling with them to Clarksville to meet with their real estate agent and choose a home.
The crew filmed the couple’s house hunting journey over a total of five days.
“It was kind of crazy. It was a lot more work than I thought it would be but it was a lot of fun,” Megan said. “We are so used to high pressure moves with the military and used to working with tight schedules.”
House Hunters shows couples touring three homes in their chosen area before being asked to choose one of the three options. Megan can’t reveal any details about the house yet, but she is happy with their decision.
“We found the perfect home for us,” she said.
You can watch Megan, Jon, and their Husky choose their dream home when the new episode of House Hunters airs Friday, Nov. 10 at 9 p.m. central time on HGTV. Be on the lookout for Clarksville businesses that may get some screen time on the episode.
