CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Local solar company CredoGroup LLC has been working to help recovery efforts in Puerto Rico, making it the first Tennessee-based organization to complete a project in Puerto Rico in the aftermaths of Hurricane Maria and Hurricane Irma.

CredoGroup completed the pro-bono project (in which 10 Innovative Smart Solar lights were donated and installed) at an orphanage, a senior citizens home, and a women’s shelter in Bayamon on July 15, 2018 as a way to serve the island’s most vulnerable citizens.

“The hurricanes that devastated the island revealed a gaping hole in their infrastructure. We immediately knew that our solar lights would provide a sustainable source of energy that would stay lit for three consecutive days in the absence of power or natural sunlight,” explained Credo Amouzouvik, the CEO of CredoGroup LLC.

The well-lit area will now be a secure place at night for those who lived on the property.

CredoGroup LLC hopes to provide similar security lights to heavily stricken areas. “Areas we hope to focus on are the airport, medical centers, schools, government buildings, hotels, public squares and parks, aqueducts and shopping districts,” Amouzouvik said.

The group says the solar lights provide a cost-saving solution while operating in independence from the electrical grid. Each light is blackout-proof, has an extended battery life, and is able to sustain functioning for three full days. Every component is designed to perform in extreme weather conditions and can be monitored remotely via an encrypted wireless device.

CredoGroup LLC has also installed solar lights at the Clarksville-based Veteran’s Administration Clinic on Weatherly Drive. This is the first VA center in the nation to implement solar lighting technology for their parking lot.
