CLARKSVILLE, TN – The new Clarksville Community Theatre is preparing to hold its first show, Songs I Could Never Sing: A Miscast Cabaret, and it’s coming up April 25 at Revel House Pub & Eatery.
The Clarksville Community Theatre started with three local theatre teachers who wanted to gather their community and share their love of the performing arts. They have established a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to theatre and strengthening community through the arts.
Auditions were announced in early March, and the Revel House filled with people from all walks of life, organizers said.
“The Miscast Cabaret is going to be an exciting whirlwind of miscast characters from some of your favorite musicals,” said Jessica Lee, one of the founders. “We wanted our first fundraising endeavor to be engaging and inviting to both performers and the audience. Set in the intimate setting of the Revel House the performers have the opportunity to get back on stage in a low-pressure environment and perform their dream roles, while providing us the ability to engage with the community.
“We asked the performers to be as creative as possible and they did not disappoint! We are very excited about the cabaret. This is sure to be an amazing event, and proceeds will help to fund the upcoming summer production.”
he Cabaret will be 7 p.m. April 25 at Revel House Pub and Eatery at 7 pm. Tickets will be released for sale April 15 for $20 each. For more information visit www.clarksvillecommunitytheatre.org.
