CLARKSVILLE, TN – A new community arts organization is taking shape with the launch of Clarksville Community Theatre, a newly founded group focused on expanding access to live theater and creative collaboration in the community.

Clarksville Community Theatre will host a public interest meeting at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library’s North Branch, Meeting Room 1. The meeting is open to the public, according to a press release.

Organizers said the theatre’s mission is to foster an inclusive environment where individuals can create, experience and celebrate live performance while strengthening community connections through the arts. The group is seeking participation from actors, directors, designers, technicians, writers, educators, volunteers and community members interested in supporting or engaging with theater.

The interest meeting will provide an overview of the organization’s vision and goals and offer attendees an opportunity to share ideas, ask questions and learn how to become involved, the release said. Leaders emphasized that no prior theater experience is required and that the organization aims to welcome participants of all backgrounds and skill levels.

Clarksville Community Theatre plans to serve as a hub for artistic expression, education and collaboration, with a focus on building long-term community engagement beyond producing stage productions, the release said.
