CLARKSVILLE, TN – Clarksville Community Theatre is thrilled to announce auditions for its inaugural production, Museum by acclaimed playwright Tina Howe, following the conclusion of the organization’s highly anticipated “Battle of the Plays” community voting competition.
The competition officially concluded on Friday, 15 May 2026 with an exciting Championship Round featuring Arsenic and Old Lace, Daddy’s Dyin’ (Who’s Got the Will?), and Museum. After hundreds of votes and incredible community engagement, Museum emerged as the winning selection and will officially become Clarksville Community Theatre’s first full production.
Set within a contemporary art museum, Museum is a hilarious, heartfelt, and wildly imaginative comedy that explores the beauty, absurdity, and humanity of art and the people who experience it. The production promises to showcase the creativity, talent, and collaborative spirit at the heart of Clarksville Community Theatre’s mission.
Auditions for Museum will consist of cold readings from the script, and performers only need to attend one audition date. Auditions will take place in Studio 402 of Austin Peay State University’s Trahern Building. The production will be co-directed by Riley Braem and Brittany Thompson. Rehearsals for those cast will begin Monday, 1 June 2026 and will be held on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings from 6:00–9:00 PM. Performances are scheduled for July 31 and August 1–2, 2026.
Clarksville Community Theatre is seeking a diverse cast of performers ages 13 and older, with opportunities available for all experience levels. Additional opportunities for younger performers will be announced at a later date. Minors attending auditions must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the audition process.
